The tour starts where Cambridge started - at the Magdalene bridge - and takes you on a journey that shows the different people who lived in the city: from the Romans, to the Saxons and Vikings and then the Normans. It then explores the origins of the university before looking at a number of colleges and at the university. Finally it shows where the university was transformed to what it is today and finishes at the market place in the centre of the city.
